Role:
As an Intermediate QA Tester, you will take an active role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality game and live-service experiences through structured testing, clear reporting, and close collaboration with the development team. You will identify defects, verify fixes, support test planning, and help maintain quality across PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and other supported platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Functional and Live-Service Testing:
- Execute thorough testing across gameplay features, systems, user interfaces, game content, and live-service updates.
- Test patches, events, content releases, and service changes to help ensure a reliable player experience before and after release.
- Identify, reproduce, and clearly report defects, including accurate steps, supporting evidence, and expected versus actual results.
- Console Quality Assurance:
- Support testing across PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, ensuring platform-specific issues are identified, tracked, and communicated effectively.
- Assist with testing against platform requirements, technical standards, and project quality expectations.
- Regression and Test Coverage:
- Retest resolved issues and carry out regression testing to confirm fixes are effective and have not introduced new defects.
- Contribute to test plans, test cases, and coverage tracking, ensuring features and live updates are tested consistently throughout development.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with QA colleagues, producers, designers, and engineers to communicate testing progress, quality risks, and release readiness.
- Help improve testing processes, documentation, and the overall clarity of QA reporting for both development and live-service releases.
Essential:
- Experience testing games or software, with a strong understanding of quality-assurance practices.
- Experience testing live-service games, including patches, content updates, events, and post-launch changes.
- Familiarity with PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch testing.
- Good understanding of defect reporting, reproduction steps, test cases, regression testing, and test planning.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to manage multiple testing priorities.
