
Senior Technical UI/UX Artist
UK Remote or West Midlands-based / Full-Time Contractor

Role:
As a Senior Technical UI/UX Artist, you will create and implement polished, intuitive, and visually cohesive user interfaces that support a strong player experience. You will bridge art, design, and engineering by developing production-ready UI assets and systems, ensuring interface work is technically robust, visually clear, and aligned with the project’s creative direction.
Responsibilities:
- UI/UX Design and Implementation:
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality UI and UX solutions that are clear, visually appealing, and easy for players to use.
- Translate gameplay, design, and player-experience requirements into practical interface flows, layouts, and interactive elements.
- Technical UI Development:
- Build and maintain UI systems using widgets, materials, 2D textures, and appropriate technical UI workflows.
- Create and optimise UI functionality and presentation to ensure it performs reliably and remains maintainable throughout development.
- UI Art and Visual Communication:
- Produce UI art, 2D textures, visual assets, and supporting materials that align with the project’s artistic direction.
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, and storyboards to communicate interface concepts, player journeys, and proposed solutions clearly.
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration:
- Work closely with design, art, engineering, and QA teams to ensure UI features meet player needs, technical requirements, and quality expectations.
- Identify and resolve UI implementation issues, balancing usability, visual quality, performance, and production constraints.
Essential:
- Strong experience as a technical UI/UX artist or designer within game development.
- Advanced technical UI implementation skills, including widgets, materials, and 2D texture workflows.
- Strong understanding of UX design, UI art, layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and player-focused interface design.
- Experience creating wireframes, storyboards, UI mock-ups, and production-ready visual assets.
