Role ID: FLX-R113

Role:

The Associate QA Tester supports the testing and quality of game features across internal projects and co-development partnerships. The role focuses on following test plans, identifying defects and reporting clear findings while developing practical testing skills and familiarity with production workflows.

The role will initially support a shared-world multiplayer adventure, contributing to gameplay, functionality and platform testing. Responsibilities and project assignments will evolve as existing projects develop and new projects are commissioned.

Working closely with QA colleagues, Engineering and Production, you will carry out assigned tests, reproduce reported issues and verify fixes under the guidance of more experienced testers. You will draw on exposure to testing across platforms, including XR, and an awareness of console technical requirements.

The role requires attention to detail, a dependable approach and a willingness to learn. You will build confidence in investigating issues, communicating results and recognising when additional guidance is needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute assigned test plans and checklists, recording results accurately and highlighting unexpected behaviour.
  • Test gameplay features, interfaces and content against documented requirements and expected behaviour.
  • Identify and reproduce defects, reporting clear steps, expected and actual results, and supporting evidence.
  • Record relevant build versions, platforms and test conditions to help developers investigate issues.
  • Verify fixes and carry out assigned regression tests, checking for related problems.
  • Support coordinated multiplayer testing, following session instructions and communicating observations.
  • Assist with platform-specific checks and technical requirement testing under guidance from experienced QA colleagues.
  • Capture screenshots, video and available logs to support defect reports.
  • Help maintain test cases and checklists as features change.
  • Communicate blockers, unclear instructions and incomplete testing promptly.
  • Respond constructively to feedback and apply learning to improve test coverage and reporting quality.

Essential:

  • 1 year’s relevant experience in games QA or software testing.
  • Practical experience following test plans and documenting test results.
  • Ability to identify unexpected behaviour and produce clear, reproducible defect reports.
  • Basic understanding of functional and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with testing games across different platforms and configurations.
  • Awareness of console technical requirements and the need to follow defined testing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to assigned tasks.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work reliably within a team, follow guidance and ask for clarification when needed.
  • A proactive approach to learning new tools, workflows and testing techniques.

Desirable:

  • Experience testing XR applications or experiences.
  • Exposure to testing across PC and multiple console platforms.
  • Experience supporting online multiplayer test sessions.
  • Familiarity with issue-tracking tools and defect workflows.
  • Experience contributing updates to test plans or checklists.
  • Experience capturing diagnostic information to support investigations.
  • Previous shipped title(s) or experience supporting testing for released software.
