QA Tester

UK Remote or West Midlands Based – Birmingham/Worcestershire Area

Role and Purpose

As the QA Tester, you will work within a team of Developers from all departments to ensure that the games we are developing are bug-free and meeting the level of quality required by our partners and consumers. You will work as part of the QA Test team here at Flix, ensuring new features are being sufficiently tested and signing off on pending releases. All aspects of a game will go through you to ensure its feature shippable before it goes out to the public.

We are looking for someone who is confident, takes the initiative and can think outside the box. You will be communicating with your lead daily to ensure everyone is aligned with their current tasks.

 Responsibilities

• Ensuring features are at a shippable quality.
• Test and track bugs using appropriate tool-sets.
• Review daily changes to features you are responsible for.
• When requested, share issues or raise concerns with relevant members in the Development team.
• Communicate with team members to help track down issues.
• Verify issues that have been resolved by the Development team.
• Identify negative player experiences within gameplay.
• Regular sanity testing of features to ensure no issues have regressed.
• Assist in profiling for features that you are responsible for, whether its capturing performance and/or pinpointing where the problems are.
• Be able to create in-depth test-plans for features you are working on.
• Collaborate with Production to establish achievable goals.
• Provide support to the programming team if they are unable to reproduce issues.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge and experience of Unreal Engine 4 & 5.
• Knowledge and experience of Azure DevOps, Jira or other bug tracking software.
• Knowledge and experience of Perforce.
• Understanding of the game development pipeline.
• Understanding of testing protocol.
• Games design degree (or equivalent).
• Previous QA experience.
