Marketing Director

UK Remote or West Midlands Based – Birmingham/Worcestershire Area

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts for multiple game projects. As the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and sales for our games. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, publishers, and external partners, to ensure the successful launch and ongoing promotion of our video game titles across various platforms and markets. 


Responsibilities:
 

Marketing Strategy Development: 

  • Create and execute strategic marketing plans for video game titles, including brand positioning, target audience identification, and marketing channel selection. 
  • Define marketing objectives, KPIs, and Wishlist metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives. 
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and consumer insights to inform marketing strategies. 
  • Communicate with development teams to intersect key marketing dates with key development milestones in our project lifecycles 

Campaign Management and Execution: 

  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital advertising, social media, email marketing, influencer partnerships, physical events and digital events, (such as Steam Fest etc). 
  • Collaborate with the Brand Manager and both internal & external creative teams to develop marketing assets, trailers, screenshots, key art, and promotional materials. 
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse data, and optimize strategies to maximize reach, engagement, and conversion. 

Partnership Development and Influencer Marketing: 

  • Collaborate with the Community Managers to iIdentify and cultivate partnerships with influencers, content creators, and media outlets to amplify our game titles and reach new audiences. 
  • Negotiate and manage partnerships and sponsorship agreements, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and budgetary constraints. 

Product Launch and Lifecycle Management: 

  • Lead the planning and execution of product launches for new game titles, including pre-launch marketing activities, PR campaigns, and post-launch support. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive ongoing engagement and retention, including content updates, DLC releases, and community events. 
  • Monitor market trends and player feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements and expansion. 
  • Where needed, provide guidance to development teams for the implementation of analytic systems – to gather important user engagement metrics. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including development, publishing, sales, and customer support, to align marketing efforts with business goals and objectives. 
  • Partner with external agencies, publishers, and licensors to maximize marketing reach and effectiveness, while ensuring brand consistency and alignment. 
  • Represent Flix Interactive at global events in the meeting room or show floor, and participate in talks or panels where needed 


Requirements:
 

  • Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of success in the video game industry or related entertainment industry. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies. 
  • Creative Vision: A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and engaging audiences through compelling marketing campaigns. 
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve excellence. 
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Expertise in digital marketing channels and tools, including social media advertising, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and analytics platforms. 
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, influence stakeholders, and build relationships with partners and collaborators. 
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and to adapt quickly to changing priorities and market conditions. 
  • Passion: A passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, and consumer behaviour. 


Desirable Skills
 

  • Experience in pitch deck creation and presenting.
