  • Actively participate in technical reviews, giving and incorporating feedback to improve animation systems, workflows and content quality.
  • Follow technical animation pipeline best practices for rigging, implementation and optimisation, ensuring systems and content meet visual quality standards and run smoothly across target platforms.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate across discipline teams to help uphold the game’s quality bar and delivery requirements, whilst troubleshooting and refining systems to achieve high-quality, performant results in-engine.
  • Work closely with your Leads and the Production team to help prioritize tasks and feedback, raise issues, and deliver high-quality work on time.

Essential:

  • Proven animation experience within games, with a portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of animation tooling, pipeline and quality.
  • Good understanding of game animation pipeline in Unreal Engine, and animation tools such as animation montages, animation blueprints, state machines, blend trees and animation modifiers.
  • High proficiency in relevant industry-standard software including rig creation and skinning in Maya, Blender or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of animation fundamentals, such as weight, timing and readability, and how they inform effective rigging, technical implementation and animation systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Take critique and guidance from others well, and be able to contribute your own input in technical reviews.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively and own end-to-end delivery of your work.
  • A passion for gaming and a drive to deliver visually stunning and captivating gaming experiences.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of retargeting and motion matching pipelines.
  • Skills in tool creation and Python scripting.
  • Experience with Advanced Skeleton.
  • Experience with motion capture technology and working with/editing motion capture data cleaning/editing processes.
  • Experience with facial rigging.
