Please Note: We welcome applicants that prefer to work from home, so please get in touch!

Role and Purpose:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to help develop, own and deliver technical art content, solutions and pipelines, both for Flix’s own internal projects and our high profile co-development partners. Bridging the gap between art and technology, you will combine your technical expertise with creative problem-solving to empower content creation, and help deliver visually compelling, high-performing game experiences. You will work closely with artists, designers and engineers to solve production challenges, optimise content, and ensure assets meet both visual and performance goals. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a solid work ethic and a positive, proactive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement robust technical art solutions, content pipelines and real-time workflows that help us deliver high quality game content – from prototype to final implementation.
  • Follow and uphold the project’s visual style and artistic principles, ensuring technical art solutions and workflows enable the creation of high-quality content that aligns with the project’s aesthetic and gameplay goals.
  • Actively participate in technical reviews, giving and incorporating feedback to improve technical solutions, workflows and content quality.
  • Apply and promote technical art best practices across content creation, implementation, profiling and optimisation, ensuring assets and systems achieve the desired visual quality while meeting performance requirements across target platforms.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate across discipline teams to solve production challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and support teams in overcoming technical and creative obstacles.
  • Work closely with your Leads and the Production team to help prioritize tasks and feedback, raise issues, and deliver high-quality work on time.

Requirements:

  • Proven technical art experience within games, with a portfolio demonstrating strong technical problem-solving, content creation expertise and an eye for visual quality.
  • Good understanding of game content pipelines in Unreal Engine, including materials, visual effects, rendering, content optimisation/profiling, Blueprint and other supporting Unreal toolsets.
  • High proficiency with relevant industry-standard software, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new workflows and technologies as required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of game development constraints and artistic fundamentals, with the ability to balance visual intent, technical requirements and performance considerations when developing content and workflows.
  • Experience helping with workflow inefficiencies; developing tools, automation or pipeline improvements to increase team productivity.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Take critique and guidance from others well, and be able to contribute your own input in technical reviews.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively and own end-to-end delivery of your work.
  • A passion for gaming and a drive to deliver visually stunning and captivating gaming experiences.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages relevant to game development.
  • Experience with, or good understanding of, Post-process effects, procedural modelling, VFX, UI implementation or rigging/animation.
  • Previous shipped title(s) within a relevant game art production pipeline.
